The 3rd SAJU (South Africa - Japan University) Forum was held on July 15 and 16 at the Tokyo International Exchange Center in Odaiba area. 21 universities in South Africa and 25 universities in Japan attended at the conference titled "Cooperation between South African and Japanese universities towards achievement of Sustainable Development Goals." In his brief presentation, Professor Shinichi Takeuchi (Director, ASC-TUFS) emphasized the importance of area studies and of understanding local context with regard to the policy implementation for achieving SDGs' goals.
