Joint Doctoral Program for Sustainability Research, jointly offered by Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS), Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), and the University of Electro-Communications (UEC), conducted the seminar on African development. We invited Dr. Dzodzi Tsikata, a Director of Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana, and discussed about the situation of development in African countries.

In the seminar, we had two sessions: in the first session, Dr. Tsikata gave a lecture about the effect of agriculture on decent livelihoods and structural transformation.

In the second session, two Ph.D. candidates of Graduate School of Global Studies, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS), talked about the situations in Mozambique and Sierra Leone where they are from.
