African Studies Center - TUFS (ASC-TUFS) will hold the 43rd ASC Seminar on November 12, 2019. This is jointly organized by Kanto branch of Japan Association for African Studies. The speaker is Mr. Yoshifumi Okamura, the Ambassador for Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), and the Government Representative of Japan for the International Peace and Stability. He is the former Ambassodor to Cote d'Ivoire, the former Director-General, African Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and the former Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
On the basis of his hands-on diplomatic experience in several African countries as well as at the UN Security Council, Ambassador Okamura will propose an alternative view on Africa for better understanding. Besides, he will suggest a new approach for African peace and security, in which Japan can make a unique contribution.
