Realizing an Inclusive Society with Different Languages and Cultures
With globalization further increasing the movement of people, our world is linked closer than ever before, which is encouraging multilingualization and multiculturalization around the world. Together with this, and the many positive interactions, there is also terrible friction and conflict everywhere in the world. Thus, what is now required on a global level is an intercultural society where people with different languages, customs, and cultures can live peacefully while building relationships based on equality with each other. Conducting educational research on languages, cultures, and societies of across broad regions of the world, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies has applied its expertise to establish the Center for Intercultural Studies to undertake intercultural projects in order to solve issues in a multilingual multicultural society.
