International Symposium Held to Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology.

On Wednesday October 15th, an International symposium “Japanese Home in Kraków” was held at TUFS to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Manggha Museum of Japan in Kraków, Poland.
This symposium was held as part of “the V4+Japan Exchange Year” organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. Bogna Dziechciaruk-Maj (Director, Manggha Museum of Japan), Katarzyna Nowak (Deputy Director) Akiko Kasuya (Associate Professor, Kyoto University of Art and Design), Stanislaw Meyer (Jagiellonian University/ Foreign Researcher, International Center for Japanese Studies, TUFS) and Koji Morita (Associate Professor, TUFS) gave lectures and discussions about: the 20-year history of the museum and its establishment background, the uniqueness of posters, and the partnership between TUFS and Jagiellonian University.
An associated poster exhibition, “Japanese Home in Kraków: the 20th Anniversary of Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology in TUFS ” has met with great success. An excellent array of posters provides visitors with an excellent opportunity to learn the storied museum history and think about the relationship between Poland and Japan.
The poster exhibition will be held at Galleria, 1F Research and Lecture Bldg. till Friday, November 14th. (Closed at 12pm on the final day.)
