Grants-In-Aid Examiners Professor Hayatsu and Associate Professor Takamatsu Recognized by JSPS

TUFS Professor Emiko Hayatsu(Graduate School of Global Studies) and Associate Professor Youichi Takamatsu(Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa) were named Fiscal 2014 Grants-in-Aid Examiners of the Year by the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science(JSPS).
JSPS is an independent administrative institution, which awards grants-in-aid to encourage developments of academic research. In order to conduct fair and equal screenings, the institution has made efforts to enhance its screening quality. As part of its efforts, every year, JSPS carries out verifications after screenings, and awards examiners who share their significant opinions during judgments.
This year, 170 examiners, including Professor Hayatsu and Associate professor Takamatsu, have been selected out of about 5,300 examiners involved in the first screening(documentary examination).
