Emeritus Professor Michiko Tanigawa Named Winner of the 20th AICT Prize for Her Book

The AICT/IATC Japan Center announced its 20th AICT Prize goes to TUFS emeritus professor Michiko Tanigawa for her book “Engeki no Miraikei” (“Drama in the Future Tense”). The AICT/IATC Japan Center is a Japanese branch of the International Association of Theater Critics (IATC, in French Association Internationale des Critiques de Theatre) which aims to bring together theater critics in order to promote international cooperation.

This annual prize is given to an outstanding book about plays or theater. A review and Tanigawa’s comments are seen in an online magazine “Theater Arts 2015 Spring Edition”. “Engeki no Miraikei” is published by the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies Press.

The book, Engeki no Mirai (Drama in the Future Tense), published by the university press, explores the possibilities of drama, from the 1960s to the post-3.11 scene.
