July 10, 2015

On Tuesday, June 30th, a ceremony was held to commemorate the establishment of the Institute for Japan Studies. About thirty faculty members, including Hirotaka Tateishi, the president of TUFS, and Emiko Hayatsu, the Dean of the Institute of Japan Studies, attended.

The Institute of Japan Studies was an educational organization established this April as part of a project to strengthen TUFS functions, following the National University Reform Plan conducted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

TUFS is scheduled to revamp the current personnel allocations of teachers of the Institute of Global Studies, the International Center for Japanese Studies, and the Japanese Language Center for International Students. The university aims to enhance its Japanese research system with international perspectives.
