August 7, 2015
The AICT/IATC Japan Center held the 20th AICT Prize award ceremony on July 26th, at the ZA-KOENJI Public Theatre, a theater in central Tokyo.
TUFS emeritus professor Michiko Tanigawa, who won this year’s prize for her work “Engeki no Miraikei” (literally, “Drama in the Future Tense”), attended the ceremony.
Remembering her academic life, the emeritus professor said at the ceremony, “I put what I did for almost all my life to this book, so this amounts to my last lecture. I’m pleased that the book has been recognized.” She also expressed her hope for further development of the theater industry.
The awarded book, “Engeki no Miraikei”, published by the university press, explores the possibilities of drama, from the 1960s to the post-3.11 scene.
