TUFS Receives Brazilian International Press Award 2015

On October 4th, the award ceremony of the Brazilian International Press Award 2015 was held at Salvia Hall in Tsurumi Ward, Yokohama. TUFS received the award in the Promotion of the Portuguese Language division.
The purpose of the Brazilian International Press Award is to recognize individuals, organizations, or enterprises which contribute to improve awareness of Brazil or encourage cultural exchanges in Japan. TUFS was awarded for its efforts to promote Brazilian arts and culture and its contribution in Brazilian communities. The council consists of the Brazilian embassy in Tokyo, the Brazilian consulate, and the media for Brazilian communities. It conducted a nomination and Brazilian expats in Japan voted for candidates. This year marked the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the award, and more than 36,000 participated in the vote.
With the attendance of Brazilian ambassador André Corrêa do Lago, the award ceremony was a big success, in which bossa nova singer Risa Ono, who was awarded, delivered a performance.
