"TUFS Study Abroad Fair 2015" Held

October 29, 2015

From October 8th to 19th, “TUFS Study Abroad Fair 2015” took place, in which there were many events and opportunities for guidance.

Fulbright (Japan-U.S. Educational Commission), the Canadian embassy to Japan, the British Council, the Australian embassy to Japan, and Campus France (the French national agency for the promotion of higher education, international student services, and international mobility) conducted information sessions. In addition, there was an explanatory meeting about the university’s exchange programs which send selected students to partner universities, as well as report presentations by students who studied abroad, and guidance for “Tobitate! Ryugaku Japan: Japan Representative Program” (a scholarship program offered MEXT in cooperation with the private sector). A two-day round-table discussion organized by students, and a photo exhibition were also conducted.

More than 70 students who studied abroad helped to organize the two-day round-table discussion, hoping to share information with students who wish to study abroad in a casual atmosphere. The discussion was vibrant, with many students attending. Tomoko Nishikawa, an official of the Japanese education ministry, participated in the “Tobitate! Ryugaku Japan: Japanese Representative Program”. Also, a huge billboard, specially designed for the representative program was set up in the university campus.

For students who wish to study abroad, this fair was a good chance for not only for gathering information, but also to listen to the experiences of senior students. This event was open to students for neighboring universities, thus sharing a precious opportunity.
