H.E. Andre Aranha Correa do LAGO Delivers Presentation
November 13, 2015
On November 5th, His Excellency Andre Aranha Correa do LAGO, Brazilian ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary, offered a presentation about three historical Brazilian capitals; Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasilia. The presentation was a great success, with approximately 130 attendees, including students and teachers. A large lecture room was filled to capacity.
The ambassador started his talk with the historical and economic background of the three cities. That background effected on the relocation of Brazilian capital. He also talked about the architecture found in each city. The audience intently listened to the presentation, as they rarely have a chance to receive a lecture about Brazilian architecture.
Ahead of the presentation, the ambassador met with Hirotaka Tateishi, TUFS president; Minoru Iawsaki, Executive Director; Chika Takeda, Dean, School of Language and Culture Studies; and Pichitelli Eliseu, Special Lecturer. After the presentation, the ambassador met with Brazilian exchange students and took pictures with TUFS students majoring the Portuguese language. His visit took place in a friendly atmosphere.
