TUFS Cinema Screening and Lecture: Memorial; Setsuko Hara "Remembering Setsuko Hara, through film from before the war" held on 21/12

On the 21st of December 2015 (Mon), a lecture and film screening of “The Daughter of the Samurai” (1937) which were put together and titled “Memorial; Setsuko Hara “Remembering Setsuko Hara, through film from before the war”” took place in the Prometheus Hall.

Before the main screening, Iris Haukamp who is a researcher of Japanese film at the University of London, SOAS, gave a lecture regarding Setsuko Hara and also explained the historical background relating to the production of the film “The Daughter of the Samurai” which was released in 1937.

A total of 200 people made up of current students, foreign students and people from the area came to participate in the screening.
