The German Ambassador in Japan Conducted a Lecture at TUFS and Exchanged with German Major Students on 22nd June

On the 22nd of June 2016 (Wed), a special lecture was given in the Prometheus Hall at TUFS by Dr. Hans Carl von Werthern, the German Ambassador in Japan (Sponsored by: the Gerumaniakai (Alumni Association) and German Language Research Office of TUFS). The lecture was conducted with the topic "Germany and the EU - Lecture and Discussion" and you could feel interest towards Germany and the EU coming from the crowd which almost filled the hall comprised mainly of students and graduates.
The Ambassador who cherishes exchanging with the younger generations, held a talk session with the German major students after he finished giving the lecture. At the talk session, alongside the member of staff representative for the German major course, Associate Prof. Fujinawa, roughly 40 students made up of current students and previous graduates from the course participated. There was a lively question and answer session held in German and was a valuable opportunity to directly converse with the ambassador.
Prior to giving the lecture, the Ambassador paid a visit to President Tateishi`s office and exchanged opinions regarding the connections between Germany and Japan.
