TUFS and the University of Havana, Cuba, Become Partner Institutions

On Tuesday 20 th September, TUFS established ties with the University of Havana, Cuba, as a partner institution.

In the past, there has been exchange of research and privately-funded international students with the University of Havana, the opportunity was taken to establish an agreement between the two universities in autumn of last year when there was a request for cooporation regarding the training of Cuban Japanese interpretation specialists through the Cuban embassy in Japan as well as through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
This agreement gained attention for playing a role in the expansion of relations in the field of human networking between the two countries, which are rapidly strengthening ties, when Prime Minister Abe Shinzo, who visited the country in the end of September, referred to it in an answer to a question from a reporter at a Domestic and foreign press conference.
