Student from School of Language and Culture Studies Played Active Role as Volunteer Interpreter in 4 Continents Figure Skating Championships 2016

Anri Maehara (School of Language and Culture Studies, English major, 3rd year) of TUFS took part as a volunteer interpreter in the “International Skating Union (ISU) 4 Continents Figure Skating Championships 2016” which was held in Taipei, Taiwan from February 18th to 21st, 2016.

6 University students from Japan including the volunteer interpreter Maehara were selected and dispatched to this globally important competition. Ms. Maehara made full use of her English proficiency and played an active role in international communication. She provided information and guidance to visitors from various countries and also interpreted for female figure skater Satoko Miyahara. Many of TUFS students are also planning to participate as volunteer interpreters at the Olympics and Para-Olympics which will be held this summer in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
