Former Special Invited Professor Timon Screech Receives Fukuoka Prize 2022

The winners of the Fukuoka Prize 2022 have been announced, and former Special Invited Professor Timon Screech (art history) is the 2022 laureate for the Academic Prize.
The Fukuoka Prize is an award that recognizes those who have made outstanding achievements in the fields of academic research and arts / culture in Asia. This marks its 32nd year.
Timon Screech, currently a professor at the International Research Center for Japanese Studies in Kyoto, is an art history researcher specializing in the Edo period. He was a visiting research professor at the TUFS-CAAS unit of the Asia-Africa Research and Education Consortium (CAAS) from April to September 2017 and from February to September 2020, and a special invited professor at the TUFS Graduate School of Japan Studies from September 2020 to September 2021.

The prize ceremony will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at the Fukuoka International Congress Center. The next day, Wednesday, September 28, a civic forum will be held at the Fukuoka Art Museum, both of which will be live-streamed and archived (advance application required).
