TUFS Russo-Japanese Business Summer School held at TUFS

On Tuesday the 17th of July, as part of a program selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Technology’s (MEXT) 2017 Inter-University Exchange Project (Russia), the “TUFS Japan-Russia Student Mobility Program: Creating Business Networks and Fostering Human Interaction”, the “Russo-Japanese Business Summer School” was held at TUFS.
At this Summer School, 29 students from 6 different Russian partner institutions (five from M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, five from the (University) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation Russian, five from the Russian State University for the Humanities, five from the National Research University - Higher School of Economics, four from St. Petersburg State University, and five from the Far Eastern Federal University) came to study at TUFS for 11 days from July 17-27. This program aimed to nurture the students’ language skills, knowledge regarding Russia and Japan, economic expertise, and negotiation/coordination skills through “International Japan Studies” classes taught in Russian, and tandem learning with Japanese students.
The opening ceremony for this program was attended by both Russian and Japanese students, and conducted in Russian. An opening address was given by Professor Kyoko Numano, leader of this project, which was then followed by an orientation from the program coordinator, specially-appointed Professor Shigeru Arai.
