President Tateishi Participates in Japan-Spain Presidents’ Joint Symposium
December 7, 2018
On Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th of March, the 2018 Japan-Spain Presidents’ Joint Symposium, an event jointly sponsored by The University of Salamanca and TUFS (with the cooperation of the Japan Committee of Universities for International Exchange, a committee run by the Embassy of Japan in Spain and The Japan Association of National Universities), was held. From TUFS, President Hirotaka Tateishi, Secretary-General Katsuhisa Sagisaka and Professor Taku Shinohara attended this symposium. This symposium was held to coincide with both the 150th anniversary of Japan-Spain diplomatic relations, and The University of Salamanca’s 800th anniversary. On top of giving the opening speech of the symposium, President Tateishi served as a chairman together with the President of The University of Salamanca at a session that aimed to share positive instances of Japan-Spain relations, and also delivered the closing speech.
This symposium was attended by around 50 people from 23 Japanese organizations and 30 people from 25 Spanish organizations. Over the two days, information was actively shared and exchanged, and the symposium successfully came to an end.
