January 22, 2019
On Friday the 7th of December, a “Japanese Culture Classroom” and an “International Evening” (sponsored by the International Student Support Association and the Student Exchange Division) were held for international students at TUFS.
At the “Japanese Culture Classroom”, students could experience traditional Japanese culture such as kimono, tea ceremony, flower arranging, shogi, ink wash painting and doll-making. This event was attended by many international exchange students.
Following this, an “International Evening” was held, which was attended by not only a large number of international students, but also by Japanese students, scholarship foundations and local networking organizations, making for a lively evening.
The evening began with a word of thanks to the foundations and organizations supporting international students from Ms. Fujimura, Director of the Japanese Language Center for International Students. Ms. Fujimura also discussed her expectations for international students, and left them with words of encouragement.
After the speeches, there were many festivities such as Thai dancing, guitar and band performances. Attendees were in high spirits, and so the event was a success.
