Representative of International Organization for Migration Tokyo Visits TUFS
January 15, 2020
On Thursday the 19th of December, Ms. Mio Sato, Representative of International Organization for Migration Tokyo, visited TUFS and met with TUFS President HAYASHI Kayoko. This meeting was also attended by Vice President MATSUKUMA Jun.
International Organization for Migration (IOM) is an international organization headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with 9 regional offices and field offices in over 100 countries around the world. TUFS entered into an internship agreement with IOM in 2010, which was renewed this October. At the meeting, the participants reconfirmed that the agreement is extremely meaningful for the future of our students' activities in any international organization.
After the meeting, Representative Sato gave a lecture entitled “The Activities of International Organization for Migration (IOM): From the Perspective of Multiculturalism” as part of the lecture series "The Modern World and International Relations" hosted by the Institute of International Relations. This event was a valuable experience for our students to have the chance to talk directly with people working in international organizations.
