Emergency Drill Held

On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, the 2023 emergency drill was held for all students, faculty, and staff. The drill included a shakeout drill* and safety confirmation drill using the safety confirmation system, as well as first aid and firefighting drills.

The drill began with an on-campus emergency broadcast of the Earthquake Early Warning System and the Shakeout Drill, which was broadcast simultaneously to lecture rooms and other locations on campus. Broadcasts were made in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean.

In the emergency rescue and firefighting drills, the Fuchu Fire Department conducted AED and CPR simulations, drills using a fire extinguisher, and a simulated earthquake experience using a seismic simulation vehicle.

* Shakeout drills are conducted at your location (work, school, outside, etc.) to practice the three safety actions to protect yourself during an earthquake: (1) Stay low, (2) Protect your head, and (3) Stay still until the shaking stops.
