Fuchu JSL Japanese Support Association holds “Let’s enjoy picture books and music” event at TUFS in collaboration with the International Education Support Office

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, 40 community members and their families and 7 TUFS students attended the “Let’s enjoy picture books and music” held by the Fuchu JSL Japanese Support Association in collaboration with the International Education Support Office. Fuchu JSL Japanese Support Association read “The Story of Babar” and “Ranka, The Girl Who came to Japan” with the background music.
The International Education Support Office formed a “Reading Picture Books Working Group” to work with the students to translate and introduce picture books from their home country to the wider community. As part of the “Let’s enjoy picture books and music” event, 5 international students and 2 Japanese students helped read stories, such as “It’s OK to be different”, “The Rainbow Fish” and “The Night Before Christmas”, including an ISEP student from Ireland who introduced “The Giant’s Causeway”, an Irish folk tale.
