Participation in the Japan-Brazil Economic Forum

On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, Professor Chika Takeda of the Institute of Global Studies participated in the Japan-Brazil Economic Forum, hosted by JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization).

From the Japanese side, Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba attended, and from the Brazilian side, H.E. Mr. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil, who is visiting Japan as a state guest to mark the 130th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Brazil, also attended and gave a speech.

At this forum, the Dual Degree Program agreement between our university and the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), which was concluded on March 17 this year, was announced as an example of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries, with the leaders of both Japan and Brazil in attendance.
