| Message | Diversity seems to be diminishing rather than flourishing in the current phase of globalization. The desire to success globally without paying much attention to particular cultures and languages is one symptom. This trend harms not only our university but all intellectual activities that do not take the lead in worldwide rankings. I consider it my responsibility to update and upgrade our common mission to embrace and thereby defend cultural and linguistic diversity by engaging in dialogues inside and outside Japan. | |
