“PHANTOMS” American Football Club
We, the American football team PHANTOMS, currently belong in the third-strongest league in Kanto area, and are practicing to advance to the league above.
Almost all the players started playing from university. However, even a beginner will improve not only by teaching each other, but also by getting advice from experienced coaches.
In addition, all members of PHANTOMS are very close regardless of grade and position, and you are assured to be a part of the PHANTOMS family once you join our team!
Rugby Club
Hi, everyone.
We regularly play rugby on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (4 days a week) on the artificial turf field. If you are looking for something to get into at TUFS, if you are in the mood to start something new, if you want to make friends, or if you want to be active, our rugby club is for you! “TUFSFC” Men's Soccer Club
Our Vision:
Through football, we aim to achieve self-actualization while continuing to be a platform where diverse values coexist, and people are connected.
The official name of TUFSFC is "The Soccer Club of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies Athletic Association." TUFS is the abbreviation of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, and FC stands for Football Club. The name TUFSFC is commonly used within the club because it is easy for international students to understand and aligns well with the global atmosphere of the university.
TUFSFC was founded in 1924, the year after the Great Kanto Earthquake. With nearly 100 years of history, the club has seen many seniors who were once members. We are always mindful that we carry on the traditions of TUFSFC in our daily activities.

"TUFSWFC" Women's Football Club
Hello, we're Women's Football Club (TUFS WFC)!
Our club has 24 members in total as of now. We have practice on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and we all enjoy playing football, including beginners (some hadn't played football until entering our club). Anyone is welcome as long as you are interested in playing football!

Softball Baseball Club
Congratulations to all new students! We play mainly on Thursdays and Sundays at the TUFS grounds. We play baseball together with both experienced and inexperienced players, teaching each other in a fun atmosphere. We welcome anyone who wants to play baseball while juggling schoolwork, part-time jobs and other club activities, anyone who wants to play baseball for the first time after a long break at university, or anyone who wants to try baseball for the first time. Tennis team
We have 9 male members and 8 female members in our team. We warmly welcome those who wish to continue playing sports in university, those who want to work hard and encourage each other with fellow students studying various languages, or those who would like to interact with other international students through tennis. Softball Tennis Club
Our softball tennis club practices every Wednesday from 4th to 5th period and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 16:00 at the tennis court. Our goal is to be promoted to the semi-annual league matches, and all players, regardless of experience, work hard to achieve this goal.

Congratulations to all the new students! Our men's basketball team is currently in the 5th division of the Kanto University Basketball Federation, and we are aiming to return to the 4th division. Women's Volleyball Club
We have seven 2nd year students and three 3rd year students, making a total of 10 students playing volleyball. We play three times a week, so we can balance our time with other things we want to do such as schoolwork and part-time jobs. We welcome anyone who likes or is interested in volleyball. Badminton Club
The Badminton Club is a place where everyone can grow, with about 50% of the members being experienced players and 50% being beginners. We play on Mondays and Wednesdays from 18:00 to 20:00 and on Saturdays from 12:00 to 15:00 at the main arena. We are always looking forward to you experiencing our club!

TUFS Table Tennis Club
IWith the goal of being promoted to the 4th division of the Kanto Student League for both men and women, we practice three times a week at the sub-arena.
We hold training camps in the spring and summer, and in August we travel to some places in Japan(ex.Fukuoka,Hiroshima)for the National Public University Table Tennis Tournament,
and actively participate in external matches.

“TUFSAL” Futsal Club
TUFSAL is the university futsal team that plays three days a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays) and is planning to join the Tokyo Metropolitan University Futsal League. “TUFSLAX” Lacrosse Club

We meet three times a week (Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays) from 8:00 to 9:30 at the pool in Chofu. We have a variety of members from swimmers aiming for national championships to those who swim for their health. We welcome people who are also members of other clubs, or who work part-time. We are looking forward to seeing you!
Figure Skating Club
We usually practice at skating rinks in Minami-Funabashi, Higashi-Yamato, or Higashi-Kanagawa.
Welcome both those who want to just enjoy, and those who want to challenge competitions!
Even if you are beginners, you can improve your skating skills with your senior members’ advice.

Boat Club
Congratulations to all new students! We, the rowing club, have been practicing every day in a very favorable environment with the aim of placing in the national championships. Most of our members start rowing as university students, but they can compete in the national championships depending on their efforts. We welcome anyone who really wants to challenge themselves in their last days as a student. You will not regret your university life. Cycling Club
We are one of the few intercollegiate cycling clubs in TUFS. We meet twice a month and hold training camps during the quarter breaks. We are a club for those who love to ride and those who want to start cycling! If you like the outdoors, traveling and making friends from other universities, this is the place for you. We are a physical education kendo club.

We have many beginners and international students who have come to kendo from universities, and we work hard every day in a hybrid environment. Karate Club
Congratulations on your enrollment! We welcome beginners as well as experienced players, as we will teach you from the basics. We are also very active at tournaments, regardless of experience. Shorinji Kempo Club
We are active every Saturday from 12:30pm to 3:30pm at the martial arts hall. We practice cheerfully and earnestly despite the small number of students and the limited practice time. Beginners are welcome. In fact, all current members started learning Shorinji Kempo at university. If you want to try something new at TUFS, or if you want to continue exercising without strain, please come and practice at the Shorinji Kempo Club. We look forward to welcoming you to our club!
Aikido Club
Aikido is a comprehensive martial art based on traditional Japanese jujutsu and kenjutsu. Aikido is famous all over the world as a form of self-defense. Aikido is practiced three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and a training camp is held in spring and summer. Inexperienced students are welcome (in fact, many of our members have no experience). We are waiting for you at the martial arts hall on the 5th floor of the gymnasium!

Fencing Club
We practice on Mondays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2

Flamenco Club
The Flamenco Club practices flamenco dancing with students of the Cante Flamenco Club. Every Tuesday and Friday, each grade has one hour of practice, and several times a month we have a professional student instructor. No previous dance experience or Spanish language skills are required, and members of the club come from all walks of life to enjoy the passionate world of flamenco. The elegant costumes, the cool music, the wonderful seniors, etc. are all part of the charm of the TUFS Flamenco Club. Join one of TUFS's unique clubs and start something new!
Philippine Cultural Folk Dance Troupe
The Philippine Cultural Folk Dance Troupe offers a wide variety of Filipino folk dances, all performed in vivid costumes. We are the only university in Japan that performs Filipino dances. In the past, we have also held overseas performances and training camps in the Philippines, so you will definitely have a unique and valuable experience here. We are looking for members regardless of language, gender, or dance experience. Please come and see and experience our club.
The TUFS Bellydance Club
Tufs bellydance has 17 members: 4 third-year students, 6 second-year students, and 7 first-year students. All members are beginners in bellydance but we enjoy practicing to improve our skills. We have club activities every Saturday and take lessons at an outside studio in preparation for performances at various restaurants, events, and Gaigo-sai(school festival).

“Quattro” Street Dance Club
We, as an official street dance club of TUFS, have 7 genres: New School Hiphop, Middle School Hiphop, Girls Hiphop, Break, House, Jazz, and Lock.
There are 2-3 activities a week, and we have our performance at the Gaigosai(school festival) stage every year.

“Etoile” Classical Ballet Club
We, Etoile, a classical ballet club, are a group of ballet enthusiasts, from experienced ballet dancers to beginners. We practice every Sunday, Monday, and the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Thursdays of the month at our basement dance hall.
We don't have any particular instructor, but rather teach each other lessons as we go about our daily routines. We perform twice a year, once at the Foreign Language Festival and once at the graduation ceremony, and the members do all the work themselves, including stage composition, choreography, costume arrangements, and other performance procedures.

Indonesian Traditional Dance Club
Hello, we are Indonesian Traditional Dance Club, or Tari Indonesia. We are the only university club in the whole Japan that incorporates traditional dances from every region in Indonesia. We welcome anyone, any gender, any nationality, any prior experience in dancing. We train under a Balinese teacher and hope that you too will see the beauty in Indonesian traditional dances!

Competitive Dance Club
Our competitive dance club is active four days a week. On Wednesdays and Saturdays all members practice in the basement studio of the gymnasium and on Mondays and Thursdays we have self-practice sessions in the dance practice room on the 3rd floor of the gymnasium. All current club members started competitive dance after entering university, so beginners are welcome. “RAMS” Cheerleading Club
We are a mixed cheerleading club, which is rare in Japan. Last year, we won the first place in the mixed division of the national competition and placed 5th overall. However, most of the members are beginners, so the starting line is the same for everyone! No need to worry! In addition to dance and acrobatics, you can experience unusual things such as a human pyramid. “Amity” Pom Dance Club
We meet every Monday and Friday from 18:00 to 20:00. Pom Dance is a type of cheerleading dance that does not involve acrobatics and specializes in dancing. We use a variety of music, including Japanese, Western, and K-POP, and it is recommended for those who want to enjoy dancing in a relaxed manner. We are looking forward to seeing you soon!

Kathak Dance Club
Kathak dance is a classical Indian dance that originated in Northern India and developed under the influence of both Hindu and Muslim cultures. Currently, there are about 20 students from 2nd to 4th year, who take lessons twice a month on Saturdays and Sundays under the guidance of the instructor Yuki. Our main activities are performances at the Gaigosai Festival and local festivals. Many of our members are not South Asian majors, have no dance experience, or are involved in other club activities. We are always open to trial lessons and tours, so if you are interested, please feel free to talk to a member of the club.

“Ka Pili Oha” Hula Dance Club
We are active three days a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Most of the members are starting with no experience, so there is no need to worry even if you have never done hula before. TUFS Orchestra
We are TUFS orchestra, mainly composed of tufs students. Although the majority of the members are tufs students, we gladly accept members from other universities. Currently, the ratio of tufs students to non-tufs students is approximately 3:1. We have various events throughout the year and listed below are the practice schedules and costs to participate in our orchestra.

Regular practice: 2 days a week on Wednesdays (16:30-19:30) and Saturdays (13:00-16:00)
Training camp: We have training camps 2 times a year before our recitals. This is usually held near the Kanto region.
◆ Cost information
Regular cost: 2000 yen a month
We collect 12,000 yen semi-annually. (ex. Jan-June 12,000 yen / Jul-Dec 12,000 yen)
Recital cost: 10,000-30,000 yen / recital
This cost includes the fee for renting halls, coaching from professional trainers, etc. The amount changes based on the number of people participating in the concert.

Cante Flamenco Club
The group performs the music of flamenco, a traditional Spanish dance, with singing, guitar, cajón (percussion instrument), and palmas (music). The basic activity fee is 0 yen, and the group meets every Monday from 5:45 p.m. in front of the dance hall in the basement of the gymnasium. We work together with the Flamenco Club, which is a real flamenco dance club. We are looking forward to meeting you!

Salsa Club
What do you think of when you hear the word “salsa”? Sauce? Dance? Our club is for salsa music. Salsa music is a type of Latin music that originated in Cuba and has many very lively songs. We meet every Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the large music room in the basement of the gymnasium. Let's enjoy salsa music together in our salsa club!

We enjoy singing a cappella by practicing in each band, and a constant meeting occurs every Thursday at 17:45. We are performing in club lives twice a year, club trip, and some street lives. “GMC” Gaidai Music Circle
We are GMC, an official music club of the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Our live is held once a month. For the live, we practice in Music Room B which is located in the basement floor of Extracurricular Activity Center. You can play various genres of music from J-Rock to Pops and some members belong to their original rock bands. In GMC, it is easy to concentrate on studies, do part-time job, and belong to other clubs as practice dates are flexible. Hello! We, Darmadartz, hold live concerts almost every month through the year. Brazilian Music Club
The Brazilian Music Club(Buraken) is an official club of the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies that performs or dances to Brazilian musics.
We cover a wide range of Brazilian music from the well-known samba to bossa nova. We are deepening our interest in Brazilian culture rooted in music and delving into our own areas of interest.
We currently have about 60 members and practice every Thursday after school in Music Room B on the 1st basement floor of the Club Building.

“Rumuk” Russian Folk Song Club
Congratulations to all new students! The “Rumuk” Russian Folk Song Club performs various Russian folk songs. The group meets every Tuesday from 17:40 to 19:30. This is a perfect club for those who are interested in Russian music and want to sing in Russian. You can also try playing the domra and balalaika, which are Russian instruments. "TUFS Manken" TUFS Manga Literature Club
TUFS Manga Literature Club (TUFS Manken) provides the club members with experience to share their opinions about Japanese subcultures, such as manga. Club members can write a novel, draw an art work, or create a manga story (all of which are original ones) on a club published book at TUFS school festival.
“XBULL” Comedy Circle
Congratulations to all new students! We perform four times a year, including regular performances and the Gaigosai Festival. Basically, we practice for about two hours a week, but the number of days varies from member to member, and it is possible to be a member of other circles as well!
“AA” Guitar Circle
Congratulations on your enrollment! AA is a circle to enjoy music using non-electric instruments such as acoustic guitars and cajons. We enjoy music in a friendly atmosphere regardless of grade. We meet every Tuesday from 18:00 on the 4th floor of the gymnasium, so come and see us!

“Theatrekontsert” Russian Theater Troupe
As the name suggests, we are an inter-college circle that performs plays in Russian. We perform every Monday and Thursday at TUFS and Waseda University campuses. No experience necessary. Most of the current members have no experience in either Russian or theater!

“TML” TUFS Miku Live Club *
TML is a group for creative and social activities, focusing on live performances of vocaloid characters. The main activities are the bi-weekly free participation group meetings held every other week after 5th period on Tuesdays and Tuesdays, and online production activities. Last year we held a live concert at Prometheus Hall. If you like vocaloids or are interested in creative activities, no experience is necessary, so please come and take a peek.

Hakuga-kai Traditional Japanese Instrument Club
Shamisen, koto and shakuhachi are practiced every Wednesday under the guidance of outside teachers. Basically, it is individual practice at different times of the day. Before a concert, the club members get together for ensemble practice. We also hold regular concerts on campus in the summer and winter.

“Karuta-kai”
This is a circle that plays competitive karuta, which is familiar from Japanese manga series ”Chihayafuru”. Model United Nation Kunitachi Branchi
Japan Model United Nations Kunitachi Branch mainly consists of students from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Hitotsubashi University, Tsuda University and ICU. Members study international politics, international relationships and the political and economical situation of each country. That helps us make a speech and negotiate at the model United Nations’ conference as a model diplomat.
We do activities every Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Besides the regular activity, Kunitachi Branch holds model United Nations conferences six times a year and has opportunities to interact with other Model United Nations Branch in Japan. The Syria Study Group
The Syria Study Group engages in activities related to the Arab region and Syria. Specifically, we deepen our knowledge of Syria and the Arab world by doing things like cooking Arab and Syrian cuisine.
There are no fixed activity dates, and it’s a very casual group where we do things whenever there’s something we want to try.

Penda Africa
We are an intercollegiate circle with people from TUFS, Sophia University, Waseda-Keio University and many other universities with the motto “Learn about Africa and communicate”. Our members are not only interested in Africa, but also in politics, international affairs, economics, culture and humanities. “But I don't know anything about Africa...” Don't worry! Through various activities such as study groups across grade levels, visits to the Ambassador's office, lectures by professional speakers, book clubs, African dinner parties, etc., you will learn about Africa and become able to take a multifaceted view of not only Africa, but also of events happening around the world. You are free to choose which activities you want to participate in and how much you want to participate. You are of course welcome to participate only in the activities that suit you! The highlight of the program is the annual spring trip to Africa, where you and your fellow participants spend a year learning about the countries you will be visiting and before visiting the country (last year we visited Zimbabwe). Come on, let's expand your world.

We are a group that meets once a week to discuss and deepen our knowledge of law, and have fun while having friendly competition. Quiz Association of TUFS
Our circle mainly enjoys “first-served style quiz” so as to cultivate our knowledges on various fields and enhance each members’ friendships! "TUF-ENE" TUFS Society for Sustainable Energy *
"TUFS Society for Sustainable Energy (also known as “TUF-ENE”) was established to support Tokyo University of Foreign Studies' carbon neutrality plan from the student side.
In pursuit of carbon neutrality, TUFS has set the goal of "promoting global warming countermeasures in collaboration with faculty, staff, and students, and transitioning all electricity used by the university to renewable energy (either produced or procured) by 2030." We are committed to contributing to the "collaboration with students" aspect of this goal.
Furthermore, starting in 2024, we will expand the scope of our activities to address the environmental goals of SDGs 13, 14, and 15."
